The Jackson Taylor Band (or JTB for short) are a band that hail from the Far North of Aotearoa, New Zealand, in a small, rural town called Kaitaia. They have been together since 2017 and have performed at many venues and events all over the north island of New Zealand. The band is made up of 5 guys that all live in or around Kaitaia, and they all have a strong passion for creating and performing music.
Jackson Taylor, Lead Vocals & Rhythm Guitar, born and bred in Te Kao, now living in Kaitaia, has always loved music and has been singing since before he could talk.
Damien 'Damo' Rice, Backing Vocals, Keyboard, Conga Drums, Audio Engineer, resides in Kaitaia, has performed in many bands over the years and has always been a lover of music.
Temaru Anderson, Bass Guitar, Backing Vocals, born and raised in Pukepoto, moved away when he was younger, then moved back to be the best Bass player in the Far North.
Laurie Gray, Lead Guitar, living on the East Coast in Coopers beach, JTB's token white guy, with his Rock background, he can shred the guitar like you've never seen before.
Alex Simeti, Drums, also on the East Coast, Karikari Peninsula, our super rare white samoan, he's played the drums for so many years, he can play those sticks with his eyes closed. Literally.
JTB perform at lots of different events including weddings, birthdays, 21st's to 70th's, work functions, community events, sports events, holiday events or just jamming out at many of the local pubs in the area. You name it, we can perform there.
JTB play a range of covers, with a few originals here and there and although they are a predominantly reggae based band, they also have a very wide variety of music they can perform. Some of their favourite artists and bands that they cover include L.A.B, Six60, Katchafire, Kora, Tiki Taane just to name a few NZ all stars, and they also perform some Kenny Rogers, Stevie Ray Vaughan, Queen, The Eagles, Stevie Wonder, Robert Cray and of course a little bit of Bob Marley.
